  • California Closets collects the following personal information on the Site, including in areas such as Franchise Opportunities:
  • If you request information about California Closets products or services or franchise offerings through our online form, we will collect your name and contact information, plus any other information you give us. You can choose whether California Closets will use this information to send you regular updates and offers.
  • Also, like most Web sites, this Site gathers traffic patterns, site usage information, and other aggregated data in order to evaluate our visitors’ preferences and the effectiveness of our Site. This aggregate data does not identify you individually.

If you send an e-mail to a franchisee, he or she may store any personal information that you include in the e-mail. Some franchisees utilize their own centralized software system to maintain such information.  Each franchisee is independently owned and operated and California Closets is not responsible for their individual privacy policies.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. This Site is directed to adults at least eighteen years old, and when a user discloses personal information on this Site, the user is representing to us that he or she is an adult.

What Does California Closets Do with the Personal Information It Collects?
We may use your personal information for various purposes.  For example, we may use it to provide you with the information and/or services you request. (Please note that in order to fulfill your request, we may need to share your information with our affiliates, franchisees, agents, and/or vendors.)

We may also use the information to send you updates about new California Closets products and services, promotional materials, or coupons unless you have informed us you would rather not receive this information. Finally, we use your personal information to analyze the effectiveness of our online and offline marketing efforts and to develop products, services, and marketing programs.

We do not sell or rent to third parties any of the personal information that you disclose to us.

Does California Closets Share My Personal Information with Others?
We may share your personal information with our affiliates, franchisees, agents, and lenders to or investors in our company.  For example, we may share your personal information with a vendor so that the vendor can help us deliver promotional mailings and coupons to you.  You can opt-out at any time of direct marketing from California Closets by contacting the corporate offices of California Closets at privacypolicy@calclosets.com. If you wish to opt-out of direct marketing from a franchisee, please contact the franchisee directly.  We are not responsible for and do not control franchisees’ communications with you, for any purpose.  We do not authorize third parties unaffiliated with California Closets to make independent use of your information for their own purposes, such as for direct marketing. However, our franchisees and affiliates may use the information to contact you. Please contact them directly if you do not wish to continue to receive such communications.

We may disclose information to law enforcement agencies or others if we are legally required to do so. In addition, certain statutory authorizations allow us to disclose personal information in emergency situations.

We may disclose, transfer, or sell the personal information collected through our Site as an asset of the company in conjunction with due diligence for or completion of a merger, reorganization, or sale to a third party of our company or a major portion of its assets. Although we do not currently anticipate such an event, changes to our privacy practices may result.

How Can I Access My Personal Information?
At your request, we will provide you with an opportunity to access and, if necessary, correct the personal information that you submitted via the online form and that is stored on our databases. To make a request, please contact us by sending an e-mail to privacypolicy@calclosets.com. We reserve the right to confirm the identity of the requester and limit the frequency of an individual’s requests. If you would like to access or correct personal information sent online to a franchisee, please contact him or her directly.

Regularly reviewing this page ensures that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to an individual’s hard drive for record keeping purposes. Cookies make Web surfing easier for you by saving your passwords, purchases, and preferences while you’re at our site. The use of cookies is an industry standard; you’ll find them at most major Web sites. This site uses cookies. By showing how and when guests use the site, cookies help us see which areas are popular and which are not. Many improvements and updates to the site are based on data such as total number of cookies to retrieve information from your computer that was not originally sent in a cookie. Except as described below, California Closets does not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes, nor is that information shared with any third parties whatsoever. California Closets does not use cookies to identify specific individuals, except in such cases as online shopping and contest registration (where a cookie allows you to enter a contest every day without registering again each time). You may occasionally get cookies from our advertisers and/or partners. California Closets does not control these cookies, and a different cookie policy may apply to them. The use of advertising cookies sent by third-party servers is standard in the Internet industry. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you’d prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, it is possible that some parts of the site will not function properly if you do so.

Security of Personal Information
California Closets has implemented technology measures to protect any personal information you submit from misuse and loss, such as firewalls and password-protected areas using established industry standards. These measures are also designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, modification, and disclosure, but please be aware that no data protection measures are entirely foolproof when data is transmitted and stored over the Internet. We will update these measures as new technology becomes available, as appropriate.
